Hello,

Transaction Log Grows even when db has been set to simple when importing modelstore using AXUtil.exe cmd line. This is for a dev environment so I don't need transaction log backups.

The performance on the import is very poor even though there is lots of ram and memory. I was able to shrink the log file down from 500gb.

SQL Server uses the log for all operations, regardless of whether the database Recovery mode is Full, Bulk, or Simple.

Simple means that after each operation the database is checkpoint and the log is cleared.

Full means that a transaction log backup causes the log to be cleared.

The log can and will grow significantly during large import operations, such as a model store. There is no avoiding that.

In addition, in order to reduce the Log try to import the Modelstore in a Temp schema.
