How do I change the price of an item in Dynamics 365 Online?

Posted on by 42
This may be really obvious, but I for the life of me can not figure it out.

We have a product called /Candy Corn/ and it's priced for $5. We want to change the price to $7. How is this done? If I go into the product, there's a tab called /Additional details/ and if I select it, it shows a /Default Price List/ and under amount it says $5. But this value cannot be changed no matter what I try.

Then there's another card below that called /Pricing/ and it has /Current Cost($3)/ , /Standard Cost(blank)/ and /List price($5). I tried changing the list price, but that did nothing either.

    Hi,

    The procedure for finding the "Pricing Method" dropdown menu is as follows:

    Step 1. Select this Default Price List Item and click on it.

    Step 2. As shown in the image, there are two views, Product Price List view and information view. Here the default view is Product Price List view.

    Step 3. Choose the Pricing information tab.

    Step 4. Find the Pricing Method field in the Pricing card.

    Step 5. Click on the value of ''Pricing Method'' and the dropdown menu will be displayed.

    Step 6. If the default view is information, the "Pricing Method" dropdown menu can be found in the Pricing card within the General tab.

    Hi,

    Regarding your question about changing the price of an item.
    In the Price List item form, on the Pricing information tab, there is a Pricing card, which has three fields: Price Method, Amount and Percentage.

    The options in the Price Method determine how the pricing is calculated.

    If you select an option other than Currency Amount, the Amount field is locked and cannot be directly changed.
    By selecting the Percent of List option, the pricing is calculated as follows:
    Amount = List Price*Percentage.

    Select the Percent Markup - Current Cost option and the pricing is calculated as follows:
    Amount = Current Cost*(1+ Percentage).

    Therefore, there are two ways to change the pricing to $7.
    After you have completed all the settings, please click Save for the value of Amount to change.
    The first one is when the Percent of List option is selected in the Price Method, setting the Percentage to 140.

    The second one is when Percent Markup - Current Cost option is selected in the Price Method, setting the Percentage to 133.3.

    For more information about how to use the Price Method, please refer to this official Microsoft documentation.
