Data entity for receivables/debtors

Hi all

I have a requirement to build a PBI report that has some basic things regarding customer receivables. A trendline showing receivables by month, with another trendline showing receivables over 60 days by month. A table containing top 10 customers by debt.

I am hoping some of the out the box data entities can make this straightforward. Does anyone know which ones? Or any other potential strategy? We currently do not export data to data lake, or use dataverse, so my tools are limited.

    Hi Benken10,

    It is not recommended to create Power BI reports for customer transactions on the live environment. If you would connect Power BI via OData with such entity, it would be a performance killer. I would recommend considering an export of these transactions to Azure Data Lake and then model the Power BI report.

    Hi Benken,

    You could consider looking at these two data entities

    • Customer Aged Balances - this is updated based on the running the Periodic job in D365FO for the Ageing snapshot
    • Customer Balance Statistics -  this is updated based on the running the Periodic job in D365FO for the Calculate balance statistics

    Both are ODATA enabled, however as noted not recommended to connect to in PROD, but up to you.
