How to remove Contract Type from project?

Hello,

A customer wants to remove contract types from certain projects.  However we are not physically able to do this in SL, even in Standard Customization Level.  My demo acts the same way - I can leave Contract Type blank on a new project, but I'm not able to remove it from an existing project. The message is '9 - Item not found'.

I checked the help and it says the Contract Type field is Optional. I considered removing it in SQL but the customer needs a method of removal that doesn't require SQL.  Please advise.  Thank you!

Laura

    Thank you for your reply.

However, our problem is not related to Code File Maintenance.  We want to remove the Contract Types from certain projects in Project Maintenance, leaving the Contract Type blank on projects that have no Contract. The Help indicates the Contract Type field is Optional, yet it won't allow us to remove Contract Type from any project.

Is this a bug? Thank you.

You can use the project code type (PA.COT.00) & project code file maintenance (PA.CFM.00) to delete the contract types from Dynamics SL. Here you have to open the project code type screen and type the “CONT” on code type field and change the category as “User Maintained” and click save option in the project code type.

You need to open the Project code file maintenance screen. you have to select the "CONT" code type from the PV Lookup. The system loads the grid with contract types and now you can see the delete option enabled on project code file maintenance screen. You can delete the contract types from dynamics SL.

Once you done the contract type delete operation, you need to update the contract type field on Project Maintenance screen (PJPROJ table). If you won’t do the update on PJProj table, you will get an “Item not found” message.

    Hope this may help you.

    Thanks,
