Uploading project WBS

Hi All,

I am trying to upload WBS data using data entities:

Project work breakdown structure - Draft

Project work breakdown structure - Draft estimates

But finding it challenging to get the hierachical data uploaded in WBS form. I am trying to upload both all Efforts, Expense, Item lines.

Also when I try to use Excel ADD-IN, I only get Effort Estimates template there? anyone tried it successfully?

Hi Nakul,

Do you get any errors when importing the data?

The OOB excel addin only has Effort template, you need to customize a template.

Hello nakul,

You can't upload expense and item lines via those entities.

They only apply to hour transactions.

You can do two things:

1.) Ask a developer creating you a new data entity that allows you uploading the expense, item, ... transactions.

Note: Those elements need to be filled into the PSAActivityEstimate table.

2.) Use electronic reporting for the upload.

Hi Dr.Ludwig,

Am thirvenkata - Technical, working with Nakul. Based on the PPT i tried to setup the Model mapping to upload Project WBS. The upload status says "operation completed" and could see data got uploaded in Project WBS screen. But am facing the below discrepancy between the data in the Excel sheet and uploaded data in D365, Can you help here to identify where am making the mistake. Thank you!

Data in Excel sheet :

Main Table - single record : Task A

Sub Table - 3 lines for Trans Type - Hour, Expense & Item.

Data Uploaded in D365 system :

Main Table data uploaded correctly, no issues.

But in Sub Table, 2 lines uploaded with same trans type "hour" and expense & item lines not uploaded.

Also the upload not working for multiple records (both Main & Sub).
