Hi..there is not such functionality in crm..but you can achieve by adding some Javascript code and one custom attribute..

you can create boolean attribute as read/unread..set this attribute default to unread..so when new record created it will set to unread..

now add Javascript on form load..when record open set attribute values to read.. save record.

Alos if you want you can add one custom button on entity ribbon to mark record manually read/unread..

    hope this will help..

You could use same ogic that is used by Raj to highlight records in grid using HTML unicode

Check the below Post where Raj provides detailed infomation on this

    Hi,

We have read/unread functionality in outlook emails because they are been sent to us by someone else and we are not the owner/creator. In CRM, when you are talking case, it will be created by someone, which means it has already been read.

Probably you want to see, if someone has started working on it or not? If yes, you must utilize the 'Queue' functionality; following are few URLs to help you:

    www.microsoft.com/.../set-up-queues-to-manage-activities-and-cases.aspx

    www.microsoft.com/.../create-or-edit-a-queue.aspx

    www.microsoft.com/.../find-what-s-assigned-to-you-in-a-queue.aspx

    community.dynamics.com/.../working-with-queues.aspx

    blogs.msdn.com/.../introduction-to-queues-in-microsoft-dynamics-crm-2011.aspx

Assigning to a queue can be automated easily and then you can easily check who is working on what, or items are still untouched

Let me know if you need more understanding on queues

    Hi Wuoi,

Chitra has mentioned a fantastic approach.

Just to elaborate on the article, here is what I did to get my result

    1. Created a Text field to store the Unicode

    2. Created a Simple Business Rule to set the value for the Unicode. You may use other approach as well depending upon your complexity (maybe JScript, Workflow, Plugin)

    3. You view must contain the column for the Unicode Character stored before

    Here is the end result

    And the view

    Hope that helps

    Thanks
