Unable to proceed to the next opportunity sales cycle in Business Central

Hi,

Good day! We have set up opportunity sales cycles and stages in Business central. Currently, we have 6 cycles and the first cycle has 3 stages. We are successful in activating the first stage, move to the next until the 3rd stage but unable to proceed to the next cycle of the sales opportunity.

It says, Next is not a valid option after selecting Update (under process).

Appreciate the assistance.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi, Steven.

Good day! just recently updated the opportunities in BC and already started it. One question. Currently, we have one to many relationship for purchase quotes. We also need to do monthly audit thus, needs to delete or archive those documents that were not used for the said opportunity.  Is there a way to create one or multiple purchase documents from the opportunity card itself? Thank you in advance.

    Imari,

When I say sub-stages what I am referencing is that you take all the Sales Cycles and link them together from Start to Finish in 1 Cycle. You have many Sales Cycles so take all them an create 1 long Sales Cycle.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Apology for the late response. How do I create sub-stages in between? Appreciate your usual assistance.

    Imari,

If you Close the stage it will not jump to the Next Sales Cycle because the Opportunity shows Sales Cycle Code = 1-Prospect. Each Sales Cycle is separate. If you wanted to break them up, then what you created works and someone would create another Opportunity for the next Sales Cycle. However, I would recommend have 1 Sales Cycle and multiple Stages from 1 to end. This way as you complete each Stage you move from 1 to 2 to 3, etc.. and you can have substages in-between.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Thanks for testing this through, Steven. Yes, that's what I'm  trying to do. Since all the 3 stages within the 1st cycle is already completed, I am trying to push it to the next sales cycle after completing the 3 stages within the first sales cycle.

Since you've mentioned that it's not how it works, should we have close/completion included in the stages per sales cycle? If so, should it automatically change the status of the sales cycle code and status per sales cycle every time the stage reaches the close/completion?

I really appreciate your time in assisting me. Thank you.

    Hello,

OK I ran the exact test you did in my CRONUS sandbox. I see what is going on. Are you expecting the Sales Cycle to go from 1 to 2 to 3 and so on? That is not how it works. You can have multiple Sales Cycles and within multiple Stages to completion/close. So you might have a Sales Cycle for Small Customers and Medium and Large. These might go short or long stages within.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steven,

Hope you're doing good. Just checking, if you had the chance of testing this in your sandbox? Thank you and appreciate your assistance.

    0842.Sales-Cycles.docx

Thanks, Steven. I updated the abovementioned tabs however I'm still unable to proceed. The attached file is an actual opportunity that we have. In this sample, it has the sales quote already as it has passed the cycle 1 phase but we are unable to apply it in BC.

    Hello,

From what  I see I filled in Completed %, Success% and Activity Code.  Try adding and then test.
