Installing RMS 2.0 32 bit in Windows 7 64 bit

One of my store registers has just been upgraded to Windows 7. This is my guinee pig to test RMS to work with Windows 7. I heard there is a patch out there that will allow RMS 2.0 to work with  64bit Windows 7. I do not have 7 Ultimate which seems to work only on that from all the forums i read. right now im getting a Active X error with the manager program. I do have SQL Express 2005 64 bit installed that fixed it connecting to my main database at another register. My main thing is getting manager to work on the Windows 7 register. any suggestions or answers will be a great help as im trying to avoid going through a Dynamics retailer (which are expensive). Thanks

I believe UAC has to be turned off for RMS to work. (Control Panel- User Accounts - User account control, slide setting all the way down to never notify)

    See if that helps.

UAC does not have to be turned off.  However Store Operations 2.0 has only been tested with Windows 7 Professional and Higher.  It does work with both 32 and 64 bit without any other changes made.

The program will only install as a 32 bit application and has no 64 bit option.

Active X errors often come from other installations after installing Store Operations (most commonly devices such as printers or pole displays).  When this happens you can sometimes repair the program (through the CD image or through programs and features) otherwise you will need to re-install it.
