for   PO XXXXXXXXX  - the Sept invoice # 900106161 is missing from the system.

How can I recover from the system?

    Has the invoice actually been posted or is it still in an pending / approval state?

    Have you checked "Subledger journal entries not yet transferred" to make sure that there is not any record there?

    Maybe in another legal entity?

    What about the PO. Is it still there and what's the status?
