We just hired a telepsychiatrist as an employee for our agency, not a contractual person. However she lives in Iowa and all of our other employees living in Michigan. Payroll is asking how to set up deductions for Iowa Withholding and tax information.

Hi Pam,
You should:
1. Downoad the latest tax updates on CustomerSource. They were issued Jan 2014 and contain taxes for all states.
2. Unzip the file in an 'easy to find' location
3. In SL>Payroll>Load Tax Tables, load the tax table for Iowa
4. Attach the Iowa deduction ID to any appropriate Earnings IDs
5. Create a new work location for Iowa. Attach the Iowa tax ID to this work location along with any others you see attached to your current work locations.
6. Give this employee a default work location of Iowa.
When you calculate the first time, any deductions that are attached to both work location and earnings type will be put in the Employee Maintenance>Deduction screen. Modify if needed there and then recalculate.
