I am facing the issue while setting Custom View on Party list field on Service Activity.
The custom view works if there is data in partylist ("resources" field) field and if this party list field is null then the custom view is not set.
Please suggest.

The same code is working fine on D365 V9.0, the issue is with Dynamics 8.2 On-Premise.
If the field has value in that custom look view set perfectly, but the issue is with if we clear this field value/null
When resource field is null :
Xrm.Page.getControl("resources") , it return null
we can achieve this using below code but I am looking for supported one:
document.getElementById("resources").setAttribute("lookuptypes", "8");

Did you pass the Entity Name as well in the addCustomFilter method?
addCustomFilter(filter, entityLogicaName)
