Good mornin ...

What is the best way to register scrap materials on a production order?

Say I need 10 bags to produce 10 of certain finished good and 2 of the bags are damaged. I need 2 additional bags to complete the production order. How should I register this?

Thanks in advance..

Luis

Do you want to book the 2 into the cost of the production order? If so, book them as extra consumption via a picking list journal.

You could also record this in the 'Scrap' field on the picking list journal line, but as far as I can tell, this field is for information only. i.e. if you Use 10 bags, and have 2 damaged ones, you would post consumption for 12, and also record 2 as scrap.
