Shortage Report

ReportReport
Posted on by 115

Hi - we are going to be implementing Microsoft AX 2009 the end of this month and I cannot find a Shortage Report.  We manufacture large mining equipment....trucks, scoops, drills...etc.  We have Indented Bills of Materials and we run shortages with a home grown program in our current system.  Is there something comparable in AX 2009.  We need to have people with varied computer strengths run/use this report.

Thanks in advance

Tammy

    Hi Tammy,

Yes, there are a few built in AX reports that will give you this data.  See I/M > Reports > On Hand menu.

    Kind regards.

Hi Kent....Is there a way to enter a top level BOM and export 'shortages' to excel??

    Thanks for your quick answer!

Have you looked at the explosion options from the sales line/production order - full explosion of the BOM and how the items will be supplied.

Where do you go for this?  You have to remember, I am very new and do not know where things are found.  Direction is appreciated.  We have users that do not have much computer experience at all that will be using this feature, so the simpler the better.

    Thanks

    Re: Shortage Report

    Hi Tammy,

Sorry for late reply.  I am not seeing a top level BOM report that will give you on hand for the lines.  What you can do is cross reference a few reports or modify existing one's to fit your needs.  IM > Reports > BOM folder can help you with this.  Or if you have your inventory setup that BOM lines belong to a certain item group, you can run the IM > Reports > Status > Physical Inventory > Physical inventory by item group.  This will show you on hand levels for a specified group.

As far as excel export, you can either print it to a text file and copy / paste into excel or you can build an SSRS report that is exportable to excel.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards.
