Capacity Reservations - System do not select different resources (based on capability)

Hi All,

I have one finished good that requires a specific resource capability. This specific capability has assigned 2 different resources. I have 2 different sales orders with requested receipt date is in 6 days. The capacity is not enough to be produced during deadline by one resource (machine).

However when I run Master Schedule instead of using both resources system choose only one resource. As a result the planned end date is 3 weeks later (out of deadline).

How the system can allocate load to both resources?

@ job scheduling, finite capacity

BR,

Michalis

I would just like to clear up the question slightly.

In the route you are telling AX to use how many resources?

The supply of the two SO's is by two works orders or one?

Your finite capacity was not working in a previous post, but this would suggest it is working and adding the second SO to the first?

Can you post some screen shots and a walk through of your issue please, it is not clear the way it is asked here I am afraid.

    Hi Michalis

There are not print screens attached to the reply I am afraid.

Master Schedule runs without warnings (!)

Please notice that ProdOrder end date is different from SO Requirement Date and there was no warning (the same happens to the 2nd SO)

All capacity reservations are in the 1st resource MHX 70 (for both two planned orders). There are no reservations on MHX 80 although dates are not met.

Finally these are the Master Plan Parameters

    Hi Steaven,

    can you see them?

  • Weaveriski Profile Picture

I can see them now. So are MHX70 and MHX80 finite? Have you set finite in the periodic job scheduling default values? Can you show the netrequirements, can you show the scheduling and the choosing of one resource? What is the capacity of the unused resource? There is, unfortunately, an awful lot of setup here.

With regards to your no warning this would come from the action and future messages in planning - so you need to configure those and react to them.

    Yes they are finite.

Production Control->Periodic->Scheduling->Job Scheduling I think is a next step after Master Planning. The question is why Master Planning do not use alternative resources.

Alternative Capacity (MHX 80) is 8 hours per day

Thanks a lot for your effort!

Any direction where to look in order to configure?

Well you need to start analysing your MRP and deciding if the issue is capacity or material - so look at the future and action messages, and look at your configuration of the coverage groups. Master Planning schedules, the job scheduling part is indeed when you reschedule it, but fundamentally MRP schedules it to drive material and capacity, it looks at the settings.

There are future and action messages, are the orders being moved out.

I am not sure what you mean by "Any direction where to look in order to configure". First you need to understand why it is doing what it is doing, it is pushing elements out, the question is why, so look at the pegging, look at the scheduling and then start to look at the configuration of the item coverage etc.
