Hello,
For our Business Central project, I’d like to implement a 'machine user' that automatically populates the 'Entered By' field on sales orders created via the EDI interface. This would allow us to use that field as a reference to bypass the approval workflow for these specific transactions.

Alternatively, is there another field or method we could use to identify and exclude EDI-generated sales orders from the approval process?

You can filter on "EDI Order" field

Ohh. I thought you are using Lanham EDI solution.

If not, you have to create a custom boolean field and enable it for EDI orders.

Hi, As mentioned in my post below, the records created by the API use the user created in the Extra Application. You can simply exclude this user.

Dynamics 365 Business Central API error handling: Application_DialogException (You must first set up user xxxx as a warehouse employee.)
