Hello,
I'm using Dynamics 365 Universal Resource Scheduling.
I want to add capacity to a resource, I created a generic resource and configured the work hours with capacity 2.
Then I opened the Scheduling Board and found the resource has 1 capacity and after booking one appointment the resource gone unavailable?
I don't know if there is another configurations should I do or what.
Thank you in advance.
I would recommend using a specific type of resource, not the generic one. Try a facility or a contact/user, it should work the way you explained it. You should see an additional capacity link on the resource and when you click it, there will be one or more additional rows in the Gantt chart.
If it still doesn't work, please share a screenshot.
Thank you Alexander for your reply,
Actually I tried to change it to facility but I cannot find this option for me, but I found Equipment.
But also the same issue happens for me.
Below the screenshot, also remember that I'm using the on primes version.
Your mention of OnPrem is important. Unfortunately I could not find the exact release notes blog article, but I *presume* that facilities and capacity scheduling were introduced at pretty much the same time.
If you don't see Facility resources, it seems that you're on an older release.
I'm using the latest version of Field Service on premise "7.6.0.47" I don't know if there is a newer version and I tried to call the action called "msdyn_RetrieveResourceAvailability" and it doesn't return this slot as available.
It is not the normal behavior and I need it in my project.
I'm using Dynamics 365 Universal Resource Scheduling in on premise version "7.6.0.47".
I tried to call the action called "msdyn_RetrieveResourceAvailability" and it doesn't return this slot as available.
I did a search for "facility" and "capacity" in the release notes, however I could only find blog articles that refer to URS 3.x, which you only get with FS v8.x, not v7.x. Also keep in mind that the msdyn_RetrieveResourceAvailability action is marked as "For internal use only.", so there is no guarantee it will work docs.microsoft.com/.../msdyn_retrieveresourceavailability ). It did however work for me. Do you get an error message or just no matching resource? If the latter, what do you get if you use Schedule Assistant with the same resource requirement?
The official API is msdyn_SearchResourceAvailability, however this also requires FS v8.x (cloudblogs.microsoft.com/.../ ).
