Vendor Attachments

Hello,

How are other organizations tracking the following in D365FO:

Are you using default D365 or making customizations?

1.  Qualifying vendors? Formal process, Name, address, code of conduct, etc.

2. A way to track insurance on a vendor, with expiration dates.  Using the attachment button? Is there a way to track expiration dates?

Thanks!

I have the same question (0)

    Daxin,

There are 2 ways I can think of for your requirement on question #1.

Option A: Use the Vendor On-hold functionality and put them on hold for everything every time a new vendor is created. Establish the process of having the required users validate the details and then release the Hold for the vendor. This is sort of an indirect review and approval process. This will not require any sort of customization and very simple to setup.

Option B: You can evaluate the Vendor Onbording and Collaboration feature and see if that will fit your needs. This requires good amount of configurations, but might be worth based on the requirements. Evaluate your requirements for this feature. You can refer to my blog post earlier on this topic. sandeepchaudhury.wordpress.com/.../

For your question #2: Yes you can use the attachment to store the insurance docs, but there is no field to track the expiration dates. If the requirement is simple just to track the date, you can add a custom field. If it is more for validating during vendor payments, then you will need additional custom dev work.

    Hi daxin,

You can potentially use the registration IDs like described in this part of the documentation: docs.microsoft.com/.../emea-registration-ids

This has the option to define registration types and you can keep track of the date of issuance and expiration.
