Payables Posting Locked in a Loop?

Hello,

I have a user who ran into posting the checks he ran into the checkbook (the payables post went without a hitch).  He gets this error when attempting to post the batch:

However, we get this error when we go into the batch editor:

It appears that the batch in question is locked in some sort of loop.  Has anybody run into a similar issue and, if so, how was it resolved?

This issue arose after we upgraded from 2016 R2 to 2018.

Thank you,

Steve

RE: Payables Posting Locked in a Loop?

    Hi skpaul,

It sounds like there was an interruption of some kind when the user attempted to post the payables checks. The good news is that there is a great article out there that talks about how to continue an interrupted payables check run (you’ll want to follow the instructions based on your specific scenario as noted in the article). Here’s the link:

KB - How to continue a check run that was interrupted in Payables Management in Microsoft Dynamics GP

Additionally, the fact that this occurred immediately after you upgraded (especially if the problem happened when the user was attempting to print posting journals) – may indicate you have a corrupt report and/or forms dictionary that’s causing a problem. I most often see this occur when forms and reports dictionaries were not synchronized as part of the upgrade process. You’ll want to recreate these dictionaries to ensure the problem does not occur moving forward.

Here are links to pertinent articles to recreate your reports and forms dictionaries:

KB Article 850465 How to re-create the Reports.dic file in Microsoft Dynamics GP:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/850465

Next, follow the steps outlined in KB Article 951767 to recreate the Forms.dic.

Here is a link to KB 951767 “How to re-create the Forms.dic file in Microsoft Dynamics GP”:

    http://support.microsoft.com/help/951767

    I hope this helps!
