Recreating a subgrid view as a dashboard view.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I need to create a view for a dashboard that displays all the opportunities a user is associated with. Currently, the "My Opportunities" view only displays opportunities when the user is the "principal in charge".

We have a section in the opportunities form with a subgrid that allows users to assign other internal users roles for that opportunity.

Ex. Beth is the only one that will see "Stream: Redmond TOD Site BD" on her dashboard under "My Opportunities". When Mark or Arielle view the dashboard, I would like them to see the opportunity & role too.

I found that this view exists in the Employee entity subgrid.

How can recreate this same view in a dashboard so that when user is on an Opportunity "internal team",  it displays in the dashboard under "My Opportunities"?

    Hi,

Yes in your case 'Opportunity Team' is a entity which is related to employee and users. You can create a new view with the advanced find view I shared before and replace 'OpportunityUser' with 'OpportunityTeam' and that should work perfectly fine.

    Thanks,

    Prateek

Thats correct as per your screenshot Opportunity Team is an entity. You need to add  another  column with view (Opportunity Team  Active view )to your  dashboard  which will display all active opportunities with internal users roles .

Except for when I look in the Employee's entity, where the subgrid that displays the correct view I want to recreate, I see this:

Wouldn't that mean that Opportunity Team is the entity and not Opportunity?

    Hi,

Its seems like internal team is a custom 'bridge entity'  which has two lookup - users and opportunity.

If that is the case then you can simple create a query which link to the bridge entity and select owner = current user

The opportunity user should be replace by 'internal team' I believe.
