GUID showing instead of record owner

Hi,

In the record owner field, the GUID is showing instead of the owner for one user only. How do I change that setting so the owner name shows instead?

Thanks,

What changes you did for the user ? Can you go to setting --> Security -->User and check user  name in the UI please.

    Hi,

What I said to open the Owner User from User list by going to settings --> Security -->Users --> Open  the user who is the owner of the record. Have you seen First Name and  Last Name are populating there ?

    Hi,

Yes first and last name are populating. It is odd because it is owning affecting one user. All other users have their name displayed in the Owner field.

    Kind regards

    Hi gavibe,

does the username have some special characters? Try removing them if yes. I remember having the same bug but don't remember exactly what the reason was

    Hi Flydancer,

The user name is CompanyInitals\LastName_Initial so no special characters other than an underscore

This remains an issue  without resolution.

The steps I have taken are to:

    - remove special characters

    - re-enter user name which pulls info from AD

Somebody suggested creating a workflow but I am not sure that would be the best solution considering the Owner field is part of the system and used across all forms. Am I missing something as I have checked every field of the user affected and also all processes and business rules in the system.
