Upgrade GP2015 R2 to 18.2

Hi I am trying to learn more about the GP upgrades so that I could assist my boss with the upgrade.

But the service packs and builds are confusing to me. We are at the 14.00.0983 (R2) version of GP currently and we want to upgrade to 18.2.  Can we directly upgrade to 18.2? or we need to hop to another version in between?

And if we need to hop which version would it be?

And I couldn't find the upgarde guide for 2018 in the customer source, could only see the 2015 guide. Are they the same?

Please help me in finding the resources for the upgrade.

Thank you

You will need to upgrade to 16.00.0716 first.

I am trying to find the disk to download for this build but no luck, customer source has changed even I cannot find the 2018 upgrade guide too. Can you please advise where to look?

Thank you for your Reply, I tried looking for the disk to upgrade to this build. But I couldn't find it.  I could see these

I have to gather all the files to assist my boss in the upgrade. I am pretty new to GP, and the builds are quite confusing to me. Please guide me to where I can find the file to upgrade to 16.00.0716 build. Thank you

Look under service packs not product releases.

Thank you, Richard Wheeler. One last question please, as my ultimate goal is to upgrade to GP18 R2. So when I hop in between to 16.00.0716 do I need to install all the other third-party apps during this hop? Or I can directly move to GP18 and then install the third-party apps at once? And could you please suggest which version of GP18 I can move to after installing the 16 service pack? Thank you again for being so kind and helpful to a new bie in this field.

To go to GP 18.5.1596 you need to be on GP 2016.00.0814 or later. You will need to contact the third-party vendors to be sure but most do not require any intermediate hops.

Thank you again for being so prompt in answering. So in order to be on the 18.5.1596 GP, I need to first hop to 16.00.0716 and then 2016.00.0814 and then ultimately 18.5.1596? My ultimate goal is to upgrade GP to Business Central and this GP upgrade is needed to use migration tools that are available for GP2018 only.   These builds and versions are quite confusing but thank you to the community.
