Setting up a Supplier for multiple legal entities

Hello community,

I have looked at the steps to set up a New Supplier and to set up a New Supplier Entity in D365.

My question is when I wish to set up a new Supplier that all my legal entities will have access to - at the point I set that supplier up - is there some setting somewhere that gives global access to that Supplier or do I have to create Legal entities one by one to give access to that supplier.

So in my example that I am setting up a Supplier called the "Stationary Shop".

And I want UK, France and Germany to access the Stationary Shop.

Would I set the Stationary Shop supplier in the UK, then assign other Legal entities (France and Germany) to it?

Or is there some quick global setting that I can select when creating the Supplier - which will apply it to all legal entities at the time of setting it up?

Mr Smith

    Hi Mr Smith,

Yes, you need to create the Stationary Shop supplier in the UK entity, then add it to another legal entity.

    Hello QianQW and all,

Thanks for this information.  This is as I understand it too.

But is there no way for suppliers to be created and shared globally via the Global Address book in D365?

To be clearer, is the only way to share a supplier across legal entities is to "add supplier to another legal entity" one at a time.  No bulk way to do this?

So if I have 10 legal entities live already.  There is no D365 setting to say apply the new Supplier to all 10 legal entities once the Supplier is set up?

    Hello Rahul,

Thanks for this pointer on cross company data sharing.

I will take a look into this.
