How to test security roles

Hi. Do anyone have any tips for how one can test changes made to security roles? As for now, I work for a company where I only have one user. The problem is that the company hesitates to create another user for me, due to strict policies. This mean that I cannot log in with another user to test the security role.
I have the same question (0)

Using visual studio is not an option in this case. Is there another way to do it?

There is no other way than to either get a test user or ask another user to test it for you, if you cannot use the VS option.

One option will be creating a dialog like form which will add the system administrator role to user from the back end.
After security role testing you can run the dialog and it will add the system administrator role to the user.
One thing to note is that the user must have access to the dialog form without system administrator role assigned.

    Thanks,
    Girish S.

    Hi Gaute,

If there is another user with the security administrator or system administrator role, you can add the roles you want to test and remove your own roles. When you completed testing, you can ask your colleague to add your original roles back.
You mentioned that this company has strict policies. I do assume correctly functioning of security roles would be then also important. Having a specific test user account is not a bad practice at all, also not for companies with strict policies. At least ensure that this test user will not be added as user in the production environment.
