"Run Integration"/"Integration Manager" options greyed out in 2013

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I am testing the upgrade from 2010 to 2013.  We are highly dependent on file integrations for order processing.  I have obtained the necessary keys (and was told that Integration Manager was included in 2013 anyway).  However, the Integration Manager for 2013 does not appeared to be available as a standalone, nor is it available in the menu selections under "Microsoft Dynamics GP" -> Tools -> Integrate.  All the knowledge base articles appear to be for the 2010 and prior versions - there is nothing for 2013.

I have already checked to verify that the Integration Site Enabler module is registered.  I have already verified that the roles have access to the ADMIN_012 role.  Something else must be missing.

Can someone tell me how to enable the Integration Manager in GP 2013?

    I eventually resolved this all months ago with a successful migration to 2013.

    Hi Blarman,

    Just to consolidate the following suggestions, since you already mentioned that you can launch IM as a standalone I won't include the installation bit here.

    1.  Install the Integration Manager 2013 (this is not automatically installed in Dynamics GP 2013).  You have install it in order for it to work.

    2.  Register Integration Manager 2013 (launch IM as standalone after install then go to Tools >> Registration.

    3.  Verify the DYNAMICS.SET file if there is an entry for Integration Manager with Product ID 105.

    4.  As Leslie suggested check your DEX.INI.  It should have the following entry:

    IMPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\Integration Manager 12\IM.EXE

    IMExecPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\Integration Manager 12\IMRun.EXE

    4.  Go to the Microsoft Dynamics GP >> Tools >> Setup >> System >> Registration Keys.

    Make sure that the Integration Site Enabler is Marked under the list of modules.

    Sometimes it is better to see things as a checklist to make sure that everything was setup so that the system works as expected.

    If even after all the above items were verified and complete and you're still having problems accessing IM from Dynamics GP, then as suggested log a case to Microsoft Support.

    Kind regards,

    Leh

    Hi all,

    I haven't read the link in Soma's post, so I apologize if I'm repeating it here. There once was a problem with the dex.ini file. Two entries need to be present in that file in order for IM to work from the GP window. Sometimes this has solved the problem, sometimes I have needed to reinstall/repair both GP and IM.

    Here are the switches - they refer to the default location, yours might be different.

    IMPath=C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Great Plains\Integration Manager\IM.EXE

    IMExecPath=C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Great Plains\Integration Manager\IMRun.EXE

    Are these switches in your Dex.ini file?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Something just does not make sense here. At this point I would recommend you open a support ticket and I will be happy to look at this with you.

    Open your Integration Manager in GP 2010 machine, then go to Tools-->Option and note the Default Integration Manager Database path under General Tab.

    Now open the Integration Manager in GP 2013 machine, go to Tools-->Convert Database and select the database name which you have mapped in GP 2010 and then click convert database. Then go to option menu and map the converted Database name and check whether the integration are available from your existing dynamics system.

    Hope this helps!!!

    Ok, I installed it (ver 12), but the options still didn't show up.  Upgraded to R2.  Still doesn't show up.  (And yes, I made sure to put in the registration keys).

    I can run the Integration Manager by itself, but the list of integrations is not from my Dynamics installation.

    As Jonathan said, IM is a separate application. You need to install if you want use the application. I think IM menu won't enable in GP without installing the same.

    Hope this helps!!!

    Not sure who told you that but that has never been nor will ever be the case. IM is a separate application that not everyone uses so we would never install it for everyone.

    My understanding was that 2013 was supposed to come with Integration Manager pre-installed.  I do not see such a DIC file anywhere and it is not mentioned in the SET file, so something tells me that I have been misinformed.
