Hello Guys!
I would like to to call a plugin/workflow from a button on Entity form and wait for the response and show the message in Client side? Is this supported?
Right now, I can see that only plugin can return the generic error message... I would like to show the message based on the response either from plugin/wf or javascript
BR,
Miha

As far as I know yes.
We're using two versions of portal. In on premise version plugin errors doesn't work despite setting is inserted. But it works OK in online version if plugin errors are enabled.
Best Regards,
M
Hi Matej Mlinšek,
Did you still need to have Site/EnableCustomPluginError set to True in Site Setting for this to work? Thanks.
Helloo, I am developing plugin for duplicated account prevention for records created from portals entity form. So I tried again to show plugin errors on portal. Now I had more luck. Error was shown successfully.
Current portal version: Portals 9.0.7.22
I think custom errors are not working for on premise version of portal, but are working OK on latest online version.
Hi Nandhini,
If you cant fine, then create the site setting Site/EnableCustomPluginError and set its value to True.
Thanks
Justin Jose
Hi Ravi,
I'm using v 8.4.2.21 but unable to find "Site/EnableCustomPluginError" in site setting to enable plugin error.
I tried to enable this setting in both dev and trial instance but no luck.
Just be aware of the following if you are using the Odata suggestion
"The OData feed that is published is anonymous and does not have any authorization checks; therefore, it is important not to enable oData feeds for Dynamics 365 data that is unsuitable for anonymous portal access."
Not yet. I have invest a lot of my time, but couldn't figure out why it is not working. I am not sure if there is a problem with application or I am doing something wrong. In case you will solve the problem I would be very thankful if you post your soluton to this thread.
Hi Miha,
I am getting same issue on portal (Version - 8.4). Were you able to solve this problem?
Thanks,
Shweta
Yup Matej, you are absolutely right.
XRM model is not yet supported on Portal.
Also you can cannot communicate with CRM from portal by sending input and collecting output like custom workflow.
Hi Javed,
you don't have access to Microsoft Dynamics CRM framework from MS Dynamics CRM Online Portal form. I think XRM is undefined, because Portal has its own framework that is a bit limited. You can build a form within CRM and add button that executes Workflow logic, but I think it is not possible to send output parameter to portals web page. Please correct me Arpit if I am wrong. :)
