Budget Control

Hi everyone! good morning!

I'm working with Business Central, and I need a way of controlling budget in Purchase orders. I worked with GP a while ago, and there was a module called encumbrance management, which allowed to control an account budget since a PO was created.

Is there a way of doing this (or something similar) in Business Central?

Thank you!

There's a budget for accounts, but not a blocking control if you overcome a specific amount for account when purchasing items. This feature can be implemented with a quite simple extension.

    Hi Stefano, thanks for answering!

By the phrase 'This feature can be implemented with a quite simple extension', you refer to a small development or a third-party addon (already done)?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

The GL bugdet ( nor Purchase Budget ...) In Business Central doen't really fit for that requierement.

My main problem with the budget , is doen't take into account the current purchase line, that has not yet been received, but the purchase order have been sent to the vendor. ( Amount / Quantity engaged for purchase )

So, we cannot make a real purchase budget follow up, concidering the current purchase order.

Only one who has generated some GL entry only....

So there is no tool out of the box ( as far as I know ) , for purchase decision and budget control...Only for analyse purpose after the document posting.

Hope I am wrong, and if this functionnality exist, I would be gratefull to learn it.

thank for sharing if you succed to make it work.

    Hi,

Hope this message finds you well. We are a certified Microsoft Partner and our team has just created Active Budget Check (ABC) ISV solution answering your above requirements on Budget control and purchase decision. ABC allows you to set blocking control options if you overcome a specific amount for account when purchasing items by department and different hierarchy levels.

You can search it on the Microsoft Appsource here: appsource.microsoft.com/.../PUBID.aristoupteltd1654849302625|AID.activebudgetcheck|PAPPID.f6f660ae-ea7d-4e9b-8fac-af21b9ef6ed5
