Default Ownership of Accounts/Contacts

(0) ShareShare

Hi there,

We are a small company and we share all of our Account/Contact information across the board and I'm wondering if its possible to set a default Owner for Accounts/Contacts to use a Team rather than an individual?

Ultimately, all Account/Contacts/Cases should belong to a team rather than an individual. I find when I enter a new account, it automatically sets me as owner when it should be the group that I'm in.

Thanks

You can assign the record to a team using a post create plugin. Please see the link below as reference.

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg327897.aspx

or see the link below to know how to setup team ownership

    thanks

Thanks Anil. I have followed this document and I have setup my environment as such. The issue I'm noticing is that when I login and add a new account (I'm a member of the owner team) upon saving, the Ownership on the top right shows my name instead of the teams name. Not sure what I've misconfigured or misunderstood :(

    Hello Trevor Sokira,

You can create a Real-time Workflow that start when record is created for (Account/Contacts/Cases ), then add Assign Record step and assign the record to your team.

    Hope this helps,

    Abed.

    Trevor,

Correct, by default the owner (without any additional setting) is the creator unless you intercept it by assigning to someone else or some teams.

So, you need to create a workflow or plugin for it.

    Example if you use C#

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg327897.aspx

But I do recommend you use Team Assignment using crm workflow for easier development :)

    Thanks.
