Log in directly to an app.

Hi All,

I've created an app which aims to hide navigation tiles <Sales, Marketing, Settings> from users with an specific security role. However, when the user with that specific Security Role logs in to CRM using the URL https://<organisation>.crm<region>.dynamics.com. He/she is able to see all the navigation tiles. Certainly, the user is able to see the app in the breadcrumb just to the right of the O365 tiles icon. But it does not make sense to me that users have to access, see all tiles and then once they navigate to an app it is when the navigation menu (SiteMap) will be modulated.

Could you please advise how to achieve it? I mean, once users log in to the general URL: https://<organisation>.crm<region>.dynamics.com they see My apps as landing page? or even better just log in to the app directly.

I just want to avoid users seeing all tiles which are confusing them.

Thanks in advance for any clarification.

Maybe create a simple page on Azure that links only to the sites that you want, and set that as the page users access first.

You can set the single sign on authentication in Azure.

    Hi Aric,

I thought it could work, but it shows the default app (which contains all the tiles) and also it shows extra icons that we do not want users to access to. Please see attached image.

Do I have to go to the old way and update the SiteMap using XrmToolBox? :(

    How about: https://home.dynamics.com/

That shows you the list of all apps for your organization.

    Would that work?

    Hi Aric,

Thank you very much for your answer.

But it does not fully help me, I will need to create at least ten different apps to module users accesss and it will not be handy to give them a different URL per app.

How can I set up a home page... where they log in straight to a specific app or set up a home page where they can see all the app?

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hi,

To login to an app, you should enter the app id after the url:

    orgname.crm.dynamics.com/main.aspx

In order to get the app id, login to your organization, and click on the reverse caret next to your Organization Name where it lists the name of your Instances/Apps. Click on the App that you created, and copy the url from there.

    Hope this helps.
