Upload Extension on a Mac

Hi I was trying to upload my extension from a Mac computer but its not working. Its not a permission issue because I am the admin. Instead, it's asking for a "app" file. I was wondering if this is because I'm on a Mac or is there a way to create the ".app" file? I currently have a folder with my extension which has app.json, and the 2 .al files.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

There is an AL code action for generating the app file. Press Ctrl+Shift+P whilst in your VS code project and type package. Choose that option and it will compile your code and produce an app file in the project folder. You can then choose this file in the install process you mentioned
