Unable to assign owners in CRM after update (and rollback)

Posted on by 145

I am unable to assign owners of entity records in CRM after an update last week, which we have since rolled back. The update was Security Update 3.2 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 On Premise 7.0 7.0.3.144, we are on premise 2015.

I had another issue, with forms not displaying data properly, after the update. I submitted a Microsoft ticket for that and they have a bug fix that they will release soon. Again, we rolled back the update and that seems to have resolved the forms issue at least for now.

It was only this week that I noticed the secondary issue, of the problem with assigning ownership of entity records. This happens on all entities, regardless of what method I use, the lookup, assign button, code -- no effect.

I know this issue has been taken up before in this forum but I don't have a resolution for my case, unless I have to wait for Microsoft's bug fix on the form issue, and perhaps that will resolve this as well.

Did you ever resolve this issue? I installed the hotfixes, we're not seeing the issue as frequently as before but still running into it. Thanks.

Looks like there is a Hotfix 7.0.3.149 available, will give that a try.

We just installed the Security Update as well and running into the same issue. I try assigning records to and administrative account from an administrative account and still get the error. It's random, sometimes assigning works fine other times it takes a few tries before the record will assign. Have you been able to get any response from Support?

I have tried that already, and I am a Sys Admin, no results. What it does is it changes temporarily, then flips back. Is it possible that CRM has set the ownerid to read only somehow? It's not read only on the form.

    Hi

Could you please try and set the Owner lookup field value and save and see if this works for you?

Please try this with a Sys Admin Account
