I have tried posting a reversing entry, but the new reversing journal entry gets created with a grayed 0.00 control total.
The issue occurred after I created a reversing and correcting entry from the original. I did my work in the correcting entry and it posted fine.
When I attempted posting the reversal the control total was grayed, and I got to enjoy the error message "Balance is out of balance by $x.xx, would you like to edit" - both yes and no responses lead to no resolution.
I then attempted to delete the reversing entry but was unable to as I had released the original correcting entry.
I was also unable to just delete or alter the reversal as the correcting entry had posted.
Lastly, I attempted to just reverse the original. However the same issue occurred with the grayed control box.
I have moved on by just cutting & pasting into new journal entry and all is well, but of course I now have 3 open, unpostable, undeletable entries mocking me from my batch list forever.
Any thoughts would be welcome.
