What type of barcode type and data in the barcode for products/ boxes ?

Hi,
I cannot find the article / forum post anymore. But I have the feeling that barcode for boxes with products should be code128 or code39?

And the data should be like:

1. Purchase Order Number (barcode type Code128 with data: PO-000001
2. Item numbering: barcode type Code128 with data: itemid;inventsizeid;quantity;inventunitid ?
3. At least item numbering like: itemid;inventsizeid

Bijv. i: x;L;5;PCS for 5 pieces in a box with itemid x and inventsizeid = L.
Bijv. ii: x;L;1;PCS
Bijv. iii: x;L;1;BOX (unit conversion with BOX = 5 PCS in AX).

Any ideas?

Yes - it makes sense to impose the same standards on your vendors.

Hi. The international standard for carton and pallet labelling is GS1.

For instance www.gs1.org/.../GS1_Logistic_Label_Guideline.pdf

But talk to your customers, they may have specific requirements.
