Hi,

I was looking for an answer but couldn't find any. What is the advantage of making item inactive in RMS. I have appox 200,000 items which need to be inactive in HQ Database, Store Template as well as Store Database.

My Questions

1) If i Inactive items in Store Template Database will those inactive items will get copy when creating NEW STORE.

2) Any other advantage by making items inactive.

We do not really have any recommendations other than setting the items to inactive. Any time items are deleted, so is the record of these items in the reports. If you try to pull up a report that needs to include any information from the deleted items, the report will show blank spots for the information that has been deleted.

    Hi Clint,

Thanks for the reply. so how to get rid of these items which no longer needed. I do not want to copy aged items to new store, and when i issue initial 401 worksheet to Newly created store, its updating all the 800K + items back to HQ table. Its never get completed.

so we have to update Item Dynamic table time and then re-issue 401 worksheet.

Any idea how to get rid of aged items.

    Hello SDDXB,

    1. Yes, they will be copied the same as other items.

    2. We always recommend setting your items to inactive because if you delete them it will give you incorrect readings when you run a report and the item you deleted will be included (i.e. The item you deleted is included on the transaction record you are trying to pull up). If you keep them inactive they are still in the system, thus it will keep your reporting correct.

    Thanks,

    Clint
