Dependent drop down /Option set Generator/ Production deployment

Hello Community Experts,

I recently had a requirement where i had to create a dependent option set for country and its respective states.

I found a solution named dependent option set generator, which I installed on my sandbox, map fields etc.

I'm including all my customizations in a solution named "Test Solution", and also i need this option set generator solution to map my dependent drop down data.

It means I'm working with two solutions on my sandbox, one for customization and another to map dependent drop down

My question is, do i need to import both the solutions to my production or I need to only import the one where I'm doing my customizations?

I guess option set generator is from unknown source, will the data be safe if i have to put it into my production?

Kindly help

Best Regards,

Sumaira Noor

    Hello Sumaira

If the dependent mapping is done and reflecting in one solution, then only Test solution import will suffice. Since i am not aware of this 3rd party solution, here's my suggestion:

Try removing the 3rd party solution once the mapping is done. If mapping still stands then All good!

If that doesn't work the you need to import both solutions.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi,

My understanding from this tool, it has web resources that you need to add to the libraries on the form in order to get the functions work, and make the options dependent. Either you need to add the required web resources into your solution or install the solution into your production.

I believe if there is a risk, the risk is still there for both approaches.

    Regards,
