wage & hour report - all salary and dollars under 1 department

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

When our HR Department is running the Wage and Hours Report for March 2014 (HR & Payroll > Reports > Wage & Hour, the report shows all of the salary and dollars are showing in Department 200. When this report is run for January & February 2014, the report appears to be accurate.

ideas as to why this has happened?

    Hi again,

This is a much more involved modification than simply updating the UPR30300. The payroll distribution table, as well as the GL YTD transaction open table also need to be modified. You can use the correcting entry feature of GP to reverse and easily re-enter the GL transaction. You could also just change the indexes on the posted transactions in the YTD gl transaction table. Do not forget to modify the posting journal reprint tables to reflect the 'proper' posting accounts.

What you need to do is doable, but you would be wise to get someone involved that knows the GP data model and trx flows.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

The Employee Cards were updated incorrectly in early march, and not detected until Yesterday.

When payroll was run, all the Salary & Hours went to the incorrect Department (200).

The Employee Cards have been updated (this morning) to have the correct information for each employee.

We want the transactions that have been processed during this time to reflect the correct Department. So I am assuming we need to updated the UPR30300 table with the corrected data from the Employee Card.

And yes, the Controller wants to change which posting accounts used.

    Hi,

Does the data in the UPR30300 not reflect the correct department / Job title? Any changes made to this table would not change the posting accounts. The change would only be reflected on reports. What is keeping the controller from closing the month? Is it the Wage/Hour report?

The UPR30300 table reflects the employee settings at the time the transactions were entered, have there been changes since then? How many transactions are involved? Does the controller want to change which posting accounts were used?

Please help me understand what problem exists.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Is there a way to update UPR30300 with the data from UPR00100 (or whatever table that holds the required data), so that it would look like when the records were posted that the employees would be in their correct Department / Job Title?

Controller cannot close month until this is corrected…somehow.

    Hi,

Check your UPR30300 table.  The DEPRTMNT column and the UNTSTOPY column.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
