Workflow notifications by e-mail and SMS, escalation

Dear All,

I have one requirement in WorkFlow. 

1). When approval goes to user like User A for example then he should get notification mail and SMS as well.

2). Suppose approval goes to User A if he is not available means in Leave for example then it's automatically goes to some other user say User B. 
Note : If that approval is not done with in 24 Hrs. then only it goes to other user automatically.

Please give me more shed on this.

    Hi Arpan Sen,

    For 1) Have you tried activating the different notification Options available for your workflow? They should inform users correspondingly.

    For 2) Have you tried making use of workflow escalations for reassignments? Some info on that can be found here: dynamicsaxtipoftheday.com/.../use-workflow-escalation-to-make-sure-tasks-get-done

    Actually i am not aware of much notification options and workflow escalation.

    Dear Arpan, please make sure you provide descriptive titles - I changed the title of this thread from "Workflow", because it was way too generic; it didn't explain what your question is about. I also attach the Workflow tag, because that's the right way how to provide a category for your thread.

    Maybe you failed to find a good name because you're asking two different questions. It may be better to create two threads in such as case.

    Thank you in advance that you'll remember these things when creating new threads.

    If you're not familiar with notification options and how to set up them, why don't you look into documentation? You can use a search engine to find the pages you're interested in, such as Configure email settings for the workflow system. E-mails are fully supported; regarding SMS, you'll have to use your own SMS gateway.

    You can find some Videos and additional info material there to get started and get your requirements fixed.
