I have a work order that has a demand for an item with a serial number. The part is 'on hand and available' with the correct site id and bin location.
When I try to issue the part, anytime I attempt to leave the field for the 'Issue Now' quantity (1 in this case), I get a message stating:
System Message 6850
Quantity remaining from Lot/Serial Assignment - transaction quantity will be changed to match.
Since it returns the issue quantity to zero, I am never able to select the serial number and make the issue. I have tried this from both the WO Material Req screen and Material Issues screen directly.

This problem has cropped up again for us. Does anyone have information regarding a Hotfix that will apply to 2011 FP1? Or perhaps another workaround?
The above KB/Hotfix listed will not apply to FP1, as the version number does not match as mentioned.
Thank you for the suggestion about the hotfix, however it does not apply. When I look at the download, it states that the corrected file hotfix file version for 1002000.exe is 8.00.20629.00
My current version of this file is 8.10.30917.00 As such, the hotfix report 'no version to update", as it should.
Odd that the hotfix describes my problem exactly, yet a newer version of the file in question still has the same bug. Typical Dynamics SL, in my opinion.
Please find below the more information towards Hotfix

Hopes this helps

Please check it.
Hope this helps

I have ran integrity checks on this part several times (before and after DB server restarts even) and nothing resolves it.
There are no reported errors in the integrity check's log file that indicate any form of problem with the item.
Run the In Integrity Check (all four options on the left side) for that Serialized Item for the specific SiteID and Bin Location.
The error is occurring because the table are out of sync.
When the Integrity Check completes - review the Event log file & the Fatal Errors tab and make sure it is blank. If yes, then check the quantity on hand for that Item / Site / Bin location combination.
If Qty exists, then proceed with Material issues.
Hope this Helps
Thanks & Regards
