I have installed GP2010 on Test Server, restored Dynamics and Production Company.

I have created the Installation/Service Account and assigned as a local Administrator and SysAdmin in SQL. I am logged in as this user.

When I try to configure the Data Mart I receive the following error,

5/28/2013 11:50:13 AM - An error occurred while checking existing companies in the Management Reporter application service. Additional information: Microsoft.Dynamics.Performance.Reporting.Common.ReportingPermissionException: You don't have permission to perform this operation. at Microsoft.Dynamics.Performance.Reporting.Security.Service.SecureServiceBase.SecureExecuteInternal[TResult](Func`1 hasPermission, Func`1 executor) at Microsoft.Dynamics.Performance.Reporting.Common.Service.ServiceBase.BaseExecute[TResult](Func`1 executor)

My Task List has,

Unable to connect to the Application service to load data mart integrations.

Unable to connect to the Application service to retrieve configured ERP integrations (there are none)... and

You don't have permission to access companies in Management Reporter.

I fixed that issue already.

For my circumstance, the key is that I need to delete(drop) MR database where kept the old MR administrator info. So it means that I uninstall MR and delete old MR database and then re-start again with only one admin user which is set to be admin for all AD, SQL server and AX.

I'm facing the above issue also and your clues are interesting. Can you give more details about "You would have configured the MR administrator during the application service installation." please? I asked this because I don't see any page or step to add a MR admin user. Thanks in advance.

The user you log in with to configure the data mart integration needs to be the following:

-Admin on the machine

-Sysadmin in SQL (unless you plan on using 'sa')

-Administrator within the MR application

The specific problem here is that the service account user has not been added to MR Security as an Administrator. You would have configured the MR administrator during the application service installation.
