Cannot save the design in ssrs report

ReportReport
Posted on by 1,260

Hi,

For some reason I cannot save my changes in the report. Till today all the changes were getting saved and was able to preview the report with in VB. But now it is still showing me the old report in spite of the updated changes made in the VB.

When I close the VB and open the report again all the my changes are disappeared and the old report is present.

Wired behavior any alternative to avoid this so that I can continue in designing my report?

    Hey D_Meethu R,

There is well know issue when your VS crashes during development and then restore report. It actually opens local copy of report that never get deployed to AOT, so you need to close VS and start from the very beginning.

Ummm, the report was running just few modifications were needed. I guess in such a short notice should go ahead and create new one. :(

I think you missed the step of "Add to AOT". There are two steps, first deployed report to server. Second step is "Add to AOT".

    Hi D_Meethu R,

are you able to deploy report in vs, if it is deployed add that that report to AOT"AddToAOT" as Ali said, After adding to AOT also. you should deploy again in AOT then only your changes will show in that report.

    Thanks,

does it only happends in one report?

if not maybe you have connection problems between AOS and VS.

    Hi Ali,

Yes I had followed the two steps and it is processed successfully. Still I was not able to see my changes. Later when I close the VB and open the report again in VB all my modifications seems like they were not saved.

    Suresh,

I did the way you said. The report is successfully deployed and added in AOT.

Also it is deployed in AOT with no errors. But for some reason when I open my report again in VB my new changes/modifications are not saved.

I even restarted by report services but no change.

    Javier,

It is only with this report. Also I was making modifications since last 2 weeks with no problem. But since few days all my changes are getting unsaved in spite of successfully deployed and added to AOT.

Right click AOT->SSRS Reports->Reports and click refresh.

Right click your report in the AOT->SSRS Reports->Reports->Your report name and click restore

You can also update the cache. In a Development Workspace, on the Tools menu, click Caches, and then click Refresh elements.

    Refer into this URL technet.microsoft.com/.../gg724094.aspx

Make sure that you are getting same error with other reports.
