Any experience/recommendations of whether it is possible/reasonable to add additional Work Order System Status? Has anyone of you already done that once?

I agree with you Fannie30 not editing the system default values, but adding additional ones should not harm the system. In our case, we wanted the two sub statuses named delayed into two different system statuses, and it didn't allow us as the name should not be the same.

So, we chose to add the additional system status, and we haven't encountered any issue doing that so far.

Per recommended practices @Dipak - I would NOT update the System Status.  Those values are tied to different functionality in the system.  You could easily break something.  That is why Microsoft has provided Sub-Status for companies to use.

You can now do it with the new Power Apps Editor.

Go to Dataverse -> Tables -> System Status -> Edit Choice

OK, got it. That was recommended already by the former Field One Team. I wasn't sure if that has changed in the meantime.

What are you trying to achieve with the additional status values?

There is no supported way to do this. I would really recommend using the OOB status values and supplement with Sub-Status.
