NAV 2016 via Remote App

Posted on by

Hello.

We try to publish a RemoteApp with our NAV Solution "DiVA" for Retailers.

The problem we have at the moment is, that it does not really work. We follow exactly the steps recommended to build the remote app, but the collection is not available via the remoteApp-Icon.

Do you have any suggestions or thoughts, what we could have made wrong?

Kind regards

Oliver

I have set up RemoteApp client working with NAV 2016 over VPN, users are in same domain on remote location and everything is working good.

The only problem I have is the LS Retail client starting from NAV client, on some client computer we have flickering window (mostly with pop-up message window), I'm trying to solve that with windows hotfixes.

how do you want to run the windows client in the remote app ? what is that remote app, what is it called, what should the remote app do ? is the target client windows based ? what kind of hardware is the client machine ? in general the windows client can be run on nearly each windows based machine. you can use "select server" in the windows client to connect to different nav service instances on Servers within the same AD (active Directory). you can secure the connection via ssl. vpn can be an additional security layer for the connection. if the client is not within the same AD then you could run the windows client as remote app or use the web client.

We want to put the Windows client in the remote app. Communication should happen via VPN. If there is an issue, maybe without a vpn.

    please describe in detail:

    * what is you remote app ? a web client, windows client, phone app ?

    * how do you communicate with nav ? with web services ?

when using web services, then check firewall, proxy and AD settings.
