BP Label Error AX 7

Can someone guide me to why does this error popup

I have a model SLD_HRApplicationFoundation, which has a SLD_HRP label file. When I check for best practices, I get the following error

BP Rule: [BPErrorUnknownLabel]:Path: [dynamics://EdInt/SLD_HRRetirementAge]:Unknown label
'@SLD_HRP:Param0014'. Legacy labels (such as label id @SYS12345) are case insensitive and
modern labels (such as 'MyLabelId' in @MyLabelFile:MyLabelId) are case sensitive. Use upper
casing when referring to legacy labels and exact casing for modern labels.

Where as my SLD_HR.en-US.label.txt file has the following entry

Label ID: Param0014
Label: Default retirement age
Description: Help text for retirement age years

and the properties set for SLD_HRRetirementAge EDT as

Label: @SLD_HRP:Param0013
Help text: @SLD_HRP:Param0014

I am currently running AX7 update 8 and SLD_HRApplicationFoundation model has been build to latest changes and database is synchronized as well.

Hi Danyal, please separate tags by comma and words inside tags by space. You created a single long tag microsoft-dynamics-ax7 label best-practice.

The message basically tells you that you shouldn't have named your label file SLD_HRP, because label files with upper casing are expected to be used for legacy label files only. Use a descriptive names for models and elements.

Sorry, this was my first post on this forum, couldn't edit the post since I can't see the edit button, won't happen next time.

@Martin If that's the case, then why are Payroll0020...Payroll0150 not generating an error?

  • Community Member Profile Picture
    on at

@Deepak Yes, the labels are showing properly, they were being shown as @SLD_HRP:Payroll0013 because the model wasn't built. Once it was built, the labels were displayed correctly.

You should be able to use Actions > Edit post. Nevertheless I've already fixed it for you.

    Hi,

    Try to regenerate labels :

    1. Open command line with (admin) privilege
    2. Execute this command :

      J:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\bin\labelc.exe -metadata="J:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory" -output="J:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory\<Package Name>\Resources" -modelmodule="<Package Name>"

Good day,  I have created a file of labels and it has worked perfectly,

but now from yesterday I am creating the same message, someone

knows how to solve it, synchronize database and build the complete model, the value

of the Lable comes out correctly, but in VS the warning of best practices continues to appear.

Change something in the label file, save, rebuild. This re-deploys the label file. The next time you build the warning disappears.
