Access Denied: You do not have enough security permission to open the menu item defaultdashboard

Hello,

recently I was trying to create a security Role. For test purposes, I have assigned it to one of my colleagues, but she got this message

My point is, what do I have to configure in order to get access to the dashboard. The Role has the name Zertifzierertest and is assigned to the company USMF. She also tries to get access to USMF, but it doesn't work.

I gave her the privilege EssentialsDashboard, but this does not help very much. I guess its because it is not a permission. Do I have to check for menu items or tables? The security configuration is like a big library and it is hard to know where to start.

Thanks for any help.

Best regards
DNC

    Hi DNC,

Can you provide an update if you solved your issue already? Or do you still need some help from the community?

    Hi DNC,

The dashboard will show based on the role of the user.

If the user has the Finance module's right, he/she will be able to see all workspace/details on the essential dashboard on login.

If you are using the "System Administrator" role, you don't need any other role.

    My current user :

I am able to see the dashboard.

For the non-admin users, you must provide a role as "System User" in addition to the existing role.

For dashboard configuration, go to User Option and Setup the initial page:

Let us know if this helps.

    Thanks,

    Hi DNC,

we're not suggesting to combine System user and your role. We're suggesting to assign both roles to the user. All users should have the System user role.

You can assign roles to users in multiple places. One of them is in the user details form (System administration - Users - Users - (Click the user id to open the details) - Assign roles.

    Hello,

yes, I am trying to do that. Unfortunately I do not know what to do here. To select the "System User" as a parent role would work, but I don't wanted the "Zertifzierertest" to be the sub-role of the System User.

    Best regards

    Hi DNC,

Add both System user and Employee roles in the user.

With the 'Employee' role, please select the "Person" also in that user.

    Regards,
    Sourav

    HI DNC,

Nikolaos is correct. The DefaultDashboard is part of the system user role.

"Zertifzierertest" is not a standard role. Are you trying to replace the system user role with this one?

All users should have System user role. Try that.

    Hi,

Would you please specify which application you're using in Dynamics?

I'll move it to the proper forum for more help.
