If this is a situation where the company is named something like "ABC<Histoical>" then the answer is just to go into company setup and remove the <Historical> from the name.   The whole reason for the <Historical>  or <Test> addition to the company name is to prevent exceeding number of employees licensing for Payroll.   Reference: KB885542.   Do the delete to UPR41600 to get your licensing counts back to where they belong.

If your are asking about recovering historical transactions back into an open year status, then I agree with Frank - MBS Professional services is the answer.

    Warren.

You can't.  You'd have to get MBS Professional Services involved.  You can post transactions to the most recent closed year, but you can't make an Historical year an Open year.

Why do you need to do this?

    Hope this helps,
