Disassembly in Dynamics GP Manufacturing

Does anyone know of software that can be used with Dynamics GP Manufacturing 10.0 to disassemble a bill of material?  I need to be able to take a motor from the field and return the disassembled good parts back to inventory.

Thank you for your insights.

    Dottie,

I haven't worked with them, but there's at least a few out there.  I know Horizons has a disassembly, but I don't think it is separate from their mfg.  My suggestion would be to try Willoware.com.  They have a number of useful GP add ons.  The disassembly is part of a larger pack, I believe, but my experience with their products has been good.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I will do some research into Willoware and Horizons software.  I appreciate your input.

    Guys,

This functionality already exists in GP Manufacturing.

    Lets discuss a simple example:

    1.       We made the BOM for one of the items.

    2.       Defined the Routing.

    3.       Did the Manufacturing Order.

    4.       Performed Manufacturing order Receiving.

In the same “MO Receiving” form, there is a place to choose “Reverse Transaction” that will dissemble the items you did receive and return the goods to the inventory.

    Hope this helps.

If you want to disassemble items that bought from the market and didn’t originally manufactured in your factory, then it would be easier to customize it instead of getting a new application.

Let me know if you need any help in the matter.

    Mohammad,

Thank you so much for your input.  I will be trying this to see how it works and if it will satisfy part of my need.  The other need is to disassemble a purchase part to identify each component by its serial number for future use.

Again, thank you for your information.

There is a company called Blue Moon Industries that has the best disassembly solution that integrates with Dynamics.

You can also download a version that will work with Fabikam - so you can review free of charge.........

     Good Luck!

    Bron,

Thank you for the information.  I have gone out to their site and downloaded the software to test.  It looks like it might be what I am looking for.
