Hi,

Is there any way if we could start email token from certain number.

For Example my current email reference is: "Email No:0048183"

I want to reset token and start it from 10000

"EMAIL NO: 004811000"

Thanks

    Hi Usman,

    Later Edit:

This is stored in the nexttrackingnumber from the organization entity - see docs.microsoft.com/.../organization

I don't think this supports Write Operations - as I don't see the IsValidForUpdate flag https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/developer/entities/organization#BKMK_NextTrackingNumber.

I would be tempted to say that unfortunately there is no way to set the number. However if you want you can try to change it via the SDK on a vanilla CRM Organization (so that you don't break anything on your environment). If it works fine - then apply the same on your productive instance.

    Hope this helps,

    Radu

Thanks Radu for your email. Do you want can be impact of turning off email tokens? As I far I know Microsoft doesn't recommend turning off tracking tokens.

    Hi Usman,

If you disable the tracking token and smart matching - then the CRM Platform won't be able to successfully track all incoming emails to the CRM records they relate to (Opportunities, Cases, Accounts, etc.)

I did however think a bit on another approach - if you want your tracking tokens to start at 1000. You can try following

    1. Change the token prefix - i think this would reset also the counter for the new token prefix

    2. Send out 999 generic emails

Afterwards start sending out normal emails - as these should continue with token value 1000.

I haven't tested this theory - but i think it might work.

    Regards,

    Radu
