I am trying to find out a way to allow only certain users the ability to use the Delete button. Anyone know an easy way of doing this?

thanks both. makes sense will pass this on, as it was my thoughts also.
I will echo what Jason said but merely add that it is my personal best practice to apply the security roles to a team; in this way it is easier to see and administer the rights certain users can and should have; if you have a role called 'can delete records' applied to a team called 'can delete records' then anyone in that team should (if we've set it up right) have the correct permissions. Then if one user can't perform the action but everyone else can, you know it's not the security, it's a PEBKAC error. It also makes administration a breeze when you have inevitable turnover.
Just my two cents.
You can manage this with security roles. If the role a user is assigned does not have delete permissions on an entity type the delete button will not be displayed. Also keep in mind when dealing with security is that the user gets the greatest permissions available. If they have multiple roles assigned to them or a team they are a member of - they get the permissions that grant the greatest amount of access. If one role doesn't allow delete and one does - they end up being able to delete.
