Hello guys,

I"m thinking about starting to develop Field Service in our Dev instance and then show a Proof-of-concept for the users. Should I install it only i dev, our should i also install it in test and prod instance also? Do you see any pros and cons? I was thinking about the dependencies since FS entities has some things on account form and so on,

Hi Fuka1,

it is really up to you, however, if it was me I would create a trial org just to test it and play around with it. Only after that if your organization accepts to work with FS, then would install it on dev. If I can avoid creating dependencies (even if I will delete them), I wouldn't install it? You can also install it on dev and if you don't want it anymore you can always restore it to a previous point of the FS installation. I would always go to the path where my orgs are the cleanest possible.

Thanks for the tip.

I Understand you, the Organization has accepted to work with FS. But for e.g if i install it in the Dev and start doing things, but i want to transfer a solution that has only relation to the Sales entities, they share for eg accounts forms and so on with FS. Won't that be problematic when transferring it to test/production if i don't have the FS installation set up there?

Hi Fuka, yes it depends on what you will import from one to the other but almost for sure it will be problematic in the way that there will be missing components/solutions etc

Okay Miguel, so then i will install FS in dev, test and production and meanwhile we start working with it and developing it.
