Is there any way to print Form or Entity data into a Report?

Hi all,

I want to print the Form or Entity data in Dynamics 365 F&O as a Report. Is there an OOTB way to generate report in Dynamics 365 F&O?

There is no format requirement for the Report, PDF/ Word /Excel are all ok.

On most forms you can click "Export to Excel". Does this fulfill your requirement?

You can also export any data entity to Excel via Data management project.

Or use the Excel add-in to fetch data.

Hey Zhenxin,

You don't need any explicit implementation for excel addins, each form has this option for export to excel, (depends on primary data entity). You just need to open that form and on the right top corner click on the office icon and you will see export options. Pl refer below screenshot.

I still have some questions. What is the relationship between Form data and Entity data? Why is Excel exported from the Form page structured as an Entity? Can I download the Form data directly? What I mean is the detail form data, not the table form data.

Hi zhenxin,

The Export to Excel options are static exports of grid data. Each one corresponds to a visible grid. All the grid data for the current filter is placed into a workbook. So you can download the Form data by export to excel.

When an entity has the same root datasource (table) as a form, it will be added as an option in the Open in Excel section of the Open in Microsoft Office menu.
