Creating Reports in CRM

ReportReport
Posted on by 95

I am having a little trouble trying to create a report one of my users requested. Theoretically, it would look like this:

Manager

 -        Owner -        Owner  -        Owner

-        Count of Open opportunities

-        Count of Open opportunities

-        Count of Open opportunities

 -        Est. Revenue -        Est. Revenue -        Est. Revenue

Manager

-   Owner

-  Owner  -   Owner

-        Count of Open opportunities

-        Count of Open opportunities

-        Count of Open opportunities

 -        Est. Revenue -        Est. Revenue -        Est. Revenue

I can't sort by Business unit/Team because some of the units have more than one manager but even if I could just get the list of users sorted correctly I could add the manager when I export to excel. Any advice would be much appreciated. The Owner column was easy to set up, same with Estimated Revenue. I just can't figure out how to get the count or get the sorting correct. Thanks

Thanks I opted to make the report in crm and then export to excel to make a pivot table for the data I needed.

    Hi,

SSRS is SQL server reporting services. You can create reports using this by fetching data from CRM.

Following links may help you to create CRM report using SSRS:

    Hope this helps:)

SSRS stands for SQL Server Reporting Services.  Basically you create the report in visual studio and upload it into CRM.  This will probably be your best way of accomplishing what you want.  What you you need is visual studio 2012, 2013 or 2015.  You can use the free community edition.  Then you will need the report authoring extension.

    Visual Studio - www.visualstudio.com/.../older-downloads

    VS 2015 SQL Data Tools - msdn.microsoft.com/.../mt186501.aspx

    Report Authoring Extension - www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    RE: Creating Reports in CRM

I'm using the Report Wizard and when I go to Opportunities as a column I can't get a count and same thing with est. revenue; I can't find a way to total them in the column. I'm not familiar with SSRS. Is that an add on?

    RE: Creating Reports in CRM

    Hi,

If you are using Custom report using SSRS then you can easily go with grouping.

    1. Just group record as per "Manager" (it will create first column in report)

    2. Now add user (owner) in second column.

    3. Count Opportuinites in third column

    4. Estimated revenue for fourth column

    5. And finally sort Group on base of "Manager".

    Hope this helps:)
